indoor positioning
since 2013.

iViu Insights builds real-time, under-1-meter location intelligence for the environments that matter most — utility substations and pipelines, retail flagships and shopping centers, casinos, banks, convention floors, and the federal facilities behind them.

What we build

A single platform. Three mission profiles.

For over a decade, iViu Insights has been developing the scalable indoor positioning infrastructure that turns ambient WiFi signal into operational intelligence. Real-time. High accuracy. Low overhead. The same platform serves safety, security, analytics, and business intelligence across critical infrastructure and commercial environments — designed from day one for rapid deployment, with precision and reliability built in.

At the core are our patented WiFi sensors, called iDTags™. They passively detect WiFi-enabled devices in range and log anonymous presence data — never PII. Our proprietary positioning system self-adapts to environmental change, so deployments never require manual recalibration. Installation is plug-and-play: power up a sensor, connect to a network, done.

The result is an end-to-end platform — hardware, firmware, algorithms, and software — engineered as one tightly-integrated stack. No middleware tax. No third-party seams to debug. One signal pipeline from antenna to dashboard.

How it works

From antenna to action — one pipeline.

iDTag sensors deploy strategically throughout a facility — indoors or outdoors, on PoE or standard outlets. Each one captures WiFi signals hundreds of times per second and turns every detection into an encrypted record.

01 · Sense
Passive WiFi detection.
iDTag sensors broadcast 150+ times per second, performing a passive, promiscuous WiFi spectrum scan for nearby WiFi-enabled devices. Sub-meter accuracy. No active interrogation.
PoE · USB-C · battery
02 · Encrypt
Anonymous device fingerprint.
Every detection generates an encrypted record containing a timestamp, position, and a unique anonymous device fingerprint — the iViu UDID. No names. No PII. Ever.
UDID · iViu UDID
03 · Transport
MQTT over encrypted uplink.
Records transmit via MQTT over an independent encrypted uplink — cellular, Ethernet, or certified third-party gateway — without ever touching the facility network.
MQTT · mTLS
04 · Correlate
iDPlatform on Azure.
Go-powered services on Azure IoT Hub correlate, analyze, and surface intelligence in real time — through dashboards, heatmaps, journey playback, alerts, and API feeds.

Why iViu

The four things that make us different.

01

Patented hardware.

Our iDTag sensor is the only IPS device of its kind — purpose-built for passive, promiscuous WiFi spectrum scanning, industrial-rated −40°C to +85°C, with broadcast rates over 150× per second. UL Certified.

02

Identity-resilient.

Modern phones rotate MAC addresses to defeat passive tracking. Our proprietary fingerprinting identifies devices reliably even when they randomize identities — a problem most positioning systems can't solve.

03

Network-isolated.

The sensor never touches your facility network. Encrypted independent uplink (PoE, USB-C, or cellular gateway) keeps the platform OT-safe and IT-clean.

04

Anonymous by design.

We collect device fingerprints, not identities. Our proprietary iViu UDID system is GDPR and CCPA compliant by architecture — not retrofit. No PII has ever passed through.

05

Self-calibrating.

The iViu Positioning System adapts to environmental change automatically. No manual rebaselining when a facility layout shifts, racks move, or seasons change.
